Meet The Trainer – Anthony

Over the next few weeks we will introduce the trainers that will be sharing their exciting tell all secrets with our EMU readers.
Firstly 2017 welcomes reputable trainer and athlete Anthony Mitchell from the MENDI Townsville Blackhawks and Phoenix Sports Performance to the EMU Family. This week We sat down with our newest trainer and got to know more about Anthony and his exciting goals, inspiration and best cheat food!
So, Anthony, where did you grow up?
“I grew up in Townsville North Queensland. I went to Ryan Catholic College for Primary School and Ignatius Park College for high School. I played Junior Rugby League for Townsville Brothers”

1) Rugby League

3) Rugby League (did I say that already ;-))
We want to know who was your idol growing up and why?
“My Father. He sacrificed and worked extremely hard to give my family the best and he did it with a positive mindset and a smile. He taught me with hard work anything is achievable but to remember to have fun doing it. Even when it’s tough.”
With all the amazing events that has happened in your life, what is your favourite moment in your career so far?
“My Footballing career would have to be my debut game playing at Suncorp stadium in front of 35000 screaming fans. I was also lucky enough to score!”
We all need down time so what do you love to do in your spare time?
“I love spending time with my family. Whether it is hanging out at home playing games or heading to a café to enjoy a coffee and relax. Family time is my favourite.”
What are you up to now?
“I’m now owner of Phoenix Sports Performance which is Rugby League academy which specialises in an holistic approach to mentoring and coaching young players to be young men. We had a really successful 1st camp in January and we are looking to do the same in camp 2 in April.”
That’s so exciting! Anything we can look forward to seeing from you in the future?
“Phoenix Sports Performance will be doing big things for junior Rugby league in North Queensland. Check us out on Facebook and Instagram to watch the journey and join in!”
And finally, for the serious question, what is your favourite cheat food?
“Chips. I’m a snack lover. They can be hot chips, packet of chips or even baked I love them!”
